Precision playback tools
Review exact frames, capture snapshots, loop ranges, navigate chapters, skip segments, and set a sleep timer.
mpvRx includes focused tools for reviewing or repeating small parts of a video without turning the normal player into an editing interface.
Frame Review
Opening Frame Review pauses playback and shows the current frame number, total frame estimate, and millisecond-accurate timestamp.
- Step one or several frames backward or forward.
- Drag the frame timeline for throttled previews, then release for an exact seek.
- Jump to an integer frame when the source duration and frame count are known.
- Capture the current frame with or without rendered subtitles.
- Close the sheet to restore playback only when the video was playing before it opened.
The compact frame controls collapse after ten seconds without interaction. Reopen or expand them when you need another precise adjustment.
A-B repeat
Use A-B repeat to loop a selected range:
- Seek to the beginning and set point A.
- Seek to the end and set point B.
- Confirm the highlighted range on the seekbar.
- Clear the loop when normal playback should resume.
This is useful for language practice, animation review, music rehearsal, or checking a short encode transition.
Chapters and skip segments
Chapter navigation uses chapter names and positions embedded in the media. mpvRx can also classify chapter titles as intro, outro, recap, credits, or preview markers when chapter-based detection is enabled.
External skip data can come from configured services such as IntroDB, TIDB, AniSkip, or Anime Skip. Availability depends on title matching and provider data. Always verify a generated marker before relying on automatic skipping.
Sleep timer
The More sheet provides 15, 30, 45, and 60 minute presets. The active timer displays its remaining time in the player. Starting another preset replaces the current timer.
